robertbrotheon asked: It's not supposed to be Mako Hate Day; it's Mako CRITICISM Day. The emphasis is one studied critique, not blind hateflailing.
it sounds like you’re trying to sculpt a mountain out of a molehill on this one guys
i’m really just
it’s kind of pretentious and obnoxious as a themed day
i may in fact be the only mako h8r who thinks mako hate day is kinda juvenile

reaaally you needed a whole day specifically to pick on mako

nobody is tryin to get you down tHERE ARE WAY FEWER CRAZY MAKORRA SHIPPERS THEN YOU THINK
likeabirdinflight asked: You don't have to answer this publicly, and I'm sorry if I'm being a bother, but what's the Korra fandom drama? Is it over the Mako Appreciation Day stuff?

I’ve been meaning to make this comic since Christmas of 2011, but I just got around to doing it and thought it was a great opportunity to share a brief version of my #newtoWHO story (please don’t delete the comment, I’ll try to keep it short).
My mother and I started watching Doctor Who on the day of the Series 6 premiere, thanks to the BBCAmerica advertising for the Royal Wedding; we tuned in and caught the second half of Series 5 and the first episode of Series 6, and we were instantly hooked.
DW became the first show of which I was completely enamored; it was the first show which introduced me to fandom (and new family and friends), it was the first media product with which I was completely obsessed and to which I was wholly devoted.
I don’t mean to be over-dramatic, but Doctor Who saved my life last year when I was so close to giving up. The Doctor gave me so much hope.
I cannot express my immense love and admiration for this wonderful show and everyone involved. It’s brought so many amazing things into my life, and I am forever thankful, and my words cannot do my emotions justice
so I’m gonna go cry now
